How acupuncture helps with pain

Acupuncture is one of the best-studied uses of Chinese medicine. It works by stimulating specific points to release tight muscle, improve local circulation, and calm the nervous system’s pain response. Many patients feel a difference after the first session; lasting change usually takes a short course of care.

Depending on what we find, treatment may also include cupping to release tight fascia, gua sha, Dragon Stick therapy for deep muscle work, and Normatec compression for recovery. We choose what fits your body, not a fixed routine.

Finding the pattern behind the pain

Pain that keeps returning usually has a pattern: how you sit, stand, lift, sleep, or train. Our practitioners are trained in sports medicine acupuncture and posture and gait assessment. The ExBody postural scan gives us an objective picture of your alignment, so we can see where the load is going and work on the cause, not just the sore spot.

Who we help

Low back pain and sciatica. Neck and shoulder tension from desk work. Sports injuries and overtraining. Stiffness that is slowing down your training, your work, or your sleep. Post-surgical recovery alongside your physical therapist. If you are unsure whether your pain is a good fit, call us and ask.

“I had been managing my lower back for years with stretching and ibuprofen. After a few sessions and the posture scan I finally understood what was driving it. I am back to running.”
