What detoxification actually means
Your liver, gut, kidneys, skin and lymphatic system clear toxins every day: what you breathe, eat, drink and absorb through your skin, plus the by-products of your own metabolism and hormones. When that load is higher than your body can process, or the pathways are slow because of nutrient gaps, poor sleep, constipation or stress, symptoms show up. Our approach supports those pathways rather than forcing the body with harsh cleanses, which can do more harm than good.
In Chinese medicine the same picture is read as a pattern of accumulation and stagnation. Acupuncture and herbal formulas are chosen to support the liver and digestion, move what is stuck, and restore energy, alongside the nutrition and lifestyle work that does the heavy lifting.
Measuring your toxin burden
Guessing is not a plan. A total toxin burden test measures your exposure to common environmental chemicals, mold toxins and heavy metals from a simple at-home sample, and nutrient and gut testing shows whether the pathways that clear them are working. Your practitioner reviews the results with you and builds a plan around what is actually elevated, not a generic protocol.
A plan you can sustain
Support usually combines functional nutrition therapy that feeds the liver and gut, targeted supplementation where testing shows a gap, reducing exposures at home, sleep and sweating, and acupuncture or herbal medicine to support energy and digestion through the process. Infrared sauna and other recovery therapies can be added where appropriate. We move at a pace your body tolerates, and we will tell you plainly if your symptoms need a physician’s evaluation first.
