How acupuncture supports fertility
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, fertility is a reflection of overall health: how well your body circulates, nourishes itself, and recovers from stress. Treatment works on those foundations rather than on a single symptom. Practitioners use acupuncture, and where appropriate Chinese herbal medicine and food therapy, to support regular cycles, healthy circulation to the reproductive organs, and a calmer nervous system.
Research on acupuncture and fertility is ongoing. Studies suggest it may help with cycle regulation, stress during treatment, and overall well-being, and many fertility clinics now recommend it alongside conventional care. We will always be honest with you about what the evidence shows and what we see in practice.
Alongside IUI and IVF
If you are working with a reproductive endocrinologist, we coordinate around your protocol. Many patients come in through the weeks of preparation, around retrieval, and on the day of transfer. We keep treatments gentle, avoid points that are contraindicated during your cycle, and never ask you to choose between us and your medical team.
Looking beneath the surface
Thyroid function, blood sugar, gut health, stress hormones and nutrient status all influence fertility. When it is useful, we can add functional lab testing to see what is going on underneath, then build nutrition and herbal support around the results. For partners, the same approach applies to sperm health.
